I’m working with my old friends at the American Museum of Radio and Electricity to raise funds for their radio station, KMRE.
KMRE has tremendous community support. Everybody loves the station. They’ve just been too busy running an amazing radio station to develop a funding base.
I’m organizing an online fundraiser on Indie GoGo (like Kickstarter, but for operating funds) and a benefit concert at the museum on September 29. Most importantly, I’ll be reaching out to area businesses to sponsor air time on KMRE. Sponsorships — known as underwriting in the radio world — are a great opportunity for KMRE to develop long term funding, and for businesses to get top-of-the-mind exposure from on-air mentions.
